
Since 2004, Capital
Campaigns led this annual event to success, raising over
$5 million for Diabetes programs. In 2004, many of Hollywood’s
best and brightest, including emcee Larry King, presenters
Leeza Gibbons, Michael J. Fox, and Dustin Hoffman, guests
Merv Griffin, Warren Beatty, Annette Bening, Harrison Ford,
Calista Flockhart, Frances Fisher, and Nikki Hilton enjoyed
special performances by Gloria Loring leading the children’s
choir, and closing with a phenomenal performance by James
Taylor.

For
the past four years, Capital Campaigns has managed the annual
New Millennium Ball from conceptual phase to post-event follow-up.
Serving as the major fundraiser each year for the David Geffen
School of Medicine at UCLA, this flagship event is the school’s
primary mechanism to continue its relationship with California’s
philanthropic and corporate donor communities.

Explore a collection with more than 100,000 works of art at LACMA, the largest encyclopedic museum west of Chicago. Through its far-reaching collections, the museum is both a resource to and a reflection of the many cultural communities and heritages in Southern California. The museum offers a variety of rewarding experiences for the general public and art professional alike. A lively schedule of special exhibitions, world-renowned film and music programs, and a number of educational events complement the permanent collection.

Scleroderma
is Greek for “hard skin”, which describes the
most common feature of the disease. It is a chronic, degenerative disorder that leads to vascular
deterioration, tissue loss, and the over-production of collagen
in the body’s
connective tissue.
In 2002, the Board of Directors hired Capital Campaigns to
increase awareness of and revenue from their annual event:
COOL COMEDY-HOT CUISINE, featuring world renowned comedians,
and food by Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Miliken of the Border
Grill.
In our first year gross receipts more than tripled from the
previous year. In 2004, with over 800 guests, Capital Campaigns
helped SRF raise $1.2 million a 10% increase from the previous
year.
When
the Muhammad Ali Center decided to launch a west coast effort
to build their Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution
in Louisville, KY, Anne urged them to do a dinner honoring
Ali, with the proceeds going to the Center. “Roast This!”
was born, with Billy Crystal as emcee. Celebrity roasters
included: Jamie Foxx, David Chappelle, Jon Lovitz, Norm Crosby
and Sinbad. Over $3 million was raised and 1000 people were
introduced to the champ’s efforts.

STARBRIGHT introduced their new book Once Upon a Fairy Tale
at a holiday fundraising event. Raising nearly $500,000, this
inaugural effort included honoree Steve Case, and readings
by Drew Carey, Jeff Goldblum, Kermit the Frog, Brooke Shields,
Cuba Gooding, Calista Flockhart, Joshua Jackson, Dylan McDermott
and STARBRIGHT Chairman, General Norman Schwarzkopf.
Brad
Grey, of Brillstein-Grey Entertainment,was honored with
the 2003 David Niven Award at the “Friends Finding
a Cure”dinner, co-chaired by Jerry Perenchio, David
Geffen, Jeffrey Bewkes and Peter Chernin. Capital Campaigns
raised over $1 million for research to find a cure for ALS,
more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Muhammad
Ali, Paul Simon, Ben Stiller, Mike Myers, Jason Priestly,
David Spade, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston made special
appearances.
Capital Campaigns was thrilled to add the Entertainment
Industry Foundation and its president, Lisa Paulsen, to
their roster of partners. EIF and American Legacy Foundation
hosted 250 of the entertainment industry’s leading
women such as Annette Bening and Jessica Simpson for a
day long discussion of “Women’s Health 2003”
moderated by Katie Couric with leading experts in Breast
Cancer, Reproductive Oncology, Gender Specific Medicine,
Cardiovascular Disease and Aging. Capital Campaigns coordinated
and produced the event.
